Will waist trainer give me a tinier waist?

Can you imagine working with a corset from the 18th century? I can’t! and I won’t! Let me tell you why …

While it’s intended to be worn much more tightly than a corset to give you a sleeker, tinier waist and you might see results almost immediately, “training” requires wearing the accessory frequently over an extended period of time. Let me mention that it is also made of thick fabric and hard metal boning. still wanna give it a try?

They pitch to give you an hourglass figure, and while you get these results almost instantly, the theory is that you can maintaining this shape. However, can you?

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS) blog, a waist trainer will not drastically change your body shape. And if your body type allows for this change momentarily, it is unlikely the changes are going to be long lasting.

The trick to get a smaller waist relies in strengthening your core muscles, as well as, building muscles around your shoulders and your booty. By following this strategy you will create a X frame leading to your beloved hourglass figure. hence your waist will appear smaller. Pilates Oh yes! Pilates Pilates Pilates will give you noticeable results that are sustainable over the long run, given you are consistent in your practice!

Nutrition is an important factor as well, yes back to basics! You’d want to be burning fat through your workouts while eating enough calories to fuel your workouts but just a bit less than you’re burning.

How do you burn fat in your waist area?

Sorry to tell you you cannot choose where you’re going to burn fat from. Ideally you would be looking into introducing cardio exercises to burn fat in a short span of time couple with! oh yes! RESISTANCE training such as Pilates, to sculpt that X frame.

In a nutshell cardio alone, won’t do it. So if you go and do endless Zumba classes you’re likely to sweat, yes, burn fat, maybe….get a sculpted and tonedbody…..Mmmm not sure about that!

My favorite go to type of workouts are Hiit Pilates as they combine Cardio elements and focus on strength exercises as well. I have filmed a few Hiit pilates workouts for you during quarantine and they are available on my Youtube channel such as this one!

Should you cut carbs?

Absolutely not! You do not have to be on a low carb diet but you need to think about the type of carbs you are eating. You’d want to stay away from highly processed carbs such as while flour, white rice, pasta and replace these with Wholegrain foods and Good carbs found in vegetables and legumes such as sweet potatoes and chickpeas.

What I am trying to say is DO NOT RESTRICT yourself! On the contrary eat the food you enjoy in moderation. Get inspired and check out this Easy SWEET POTATOES Skillet guided Recipe
