I tried Pilates but I got really bored
I’ve heard it more than once…” I tried Pilates, but I got bored
I can understand you because Pilates is not a dance class or Zumba, and it is normal for you to get bored the first time you try these exercises.
In fact, I remember when I tried them myself at the age of 22- after the insistence of my friend on how amazing these exercises were – I remember I hated my life and ran away from the class, since I am a fan of active types of sports. And I didn’t even return to the world of Pilates until 10 years later after an injury to my leg, and that’s when I discovered the balance I’ve been searching for in my life.
From my experience, I highly recommend that you try a Pilates class with different teachers. For example, if you tried a class and you did not like it, do not lose hope as I did! On the contrary, give yourself and Pilates a second chance.
Also it is possible that you did not enjoy the class because the level was not suitable for you, or you simply did not vibe with the teacher and there was no connection between the two of you.
As you’re starting your Pilates journey, you might benefit from taking private lessons- even it’s just a few- so you can learn more about the techniques you need in your Pilates class.
